A love bug for Valentine's Day
In honor of St. Patrick's Day a Blarney Stone (above) and a Pot O'Gold (below).
Kate loved learning about the color wheel and how mixing the primary colors makes other colors-
They read the book, The Runaway Pancake by John Lithgow and created their own little Runaway pancakes to sing along with the song in the book. This was a huge hit with Kate and I definitely recommend the book and CD to any other families out there. It was so cute to see the class singing and making their run away pancakes run.
They also had a local pediatric dentist, Dr. Bob, visit their classroom to talk about the importance of oral hygiene. That day each child made this doctor hat and got name tags referring to themselves as Dr. Kate. Kate was really into it and still talks about Dr. Bob weeks later.
At least one of the weekly projects is done around the letter of the week.

R is for Rabbit ears
T is for Tiger
V is for Violin
W is for Waffle
And in honor of Dr. Seuss, they made balloons from, "Oh the Places You'll Go."
Do any other mothers of toddlers have any creative suggestions on what to do with all her master pieces? The ones with glitter that shed are particularly tricky for me. I guess showcasing her work here counts as preservation and I can still save some of my favorites (and hers - although they are generally ALL her favorites) in a keepsake box. Writing all this down makes me realize just how much she is learning. While her school is play based and our primary objective in sending her there is structure and socialization, she is definitely learning lots of new things every day and it is truly fostering a love of learning and inherent curiosity. Hopefully this will continue for many years to come!
