Today marked Kate's first day of Lunch Bunch at her new school. Basically she goes to school 1 hour and 15 minutes early for some extra play time and lunch with her peers. We thought it would be a good way to slightly extend her day and expose her to more of the kids her age at her school. It also marked my first time packing a lunch for her for school. I'm sure it will get tedious, but for today it was fun. She was very excited about her new lunch bag/box - which of course is purple - and the food we selected. A turkey sandwich with mayonaise, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoe, grapes, a milk box, and some cheese crackers. I anticipated that Kate would be too distracted by the other kids and new situation to actually eat her lunch and was unsure how much food to pack, but she brought home what she didn't eat and ate it after school in the 3 o'clock hour.
