Vacation

We spent last week in sunny Bonita Springs, Florida with Grandma and Grandpa at the Hyatt Coconut Plantation Vacation Club.  It was a wonderful spot for families, especially those with young children.  The vacation club had three pools (two zero depth), a lazy river and a playground.   The adjacent hotel had another zero depth "adventure" pool with a water slide specifically designed for kids 30-42"and a big water slide for Daddy.  Kate LOVED swimming!  We had to force her to take breaks and she still crashed for 3 hour naps every day and melted down around 7:30 eastern for bed.  We did our best to keep Luke cool and shaded, but I think he was happy to come home.  It was nice to be away and to have this family time.  Here are some pictures from the trip-

Luke relaxing by the pools.  We got a great tip from the front desk to scout out seats under the water falls.  Not only is it full shade under there, but the water falls themselves help keep things cool, almost somewhat air conditioned.

One morning, Kurt and his parents took Kate to a local beach.  Luke and I stayed home to nap. Kate gathered a plethora of shells and waded in the ocean for the first time in her life.
