Kate made her first ever trip to the dentist this morning. We have been talking about it for a few weeks and everything went incredibly smoothly. The office was brand new, state of the art, and all geared towards children. Kate got to choose from 8 different videos to watch on a flat screen TV mounted on the ceiling to help her relax while they cleaned her teeth. She also got to choose between four flavors of toothpaste- raspberry, grape, chocolate, and birthday cake! (Kate chose grape because purple is her favorite color- imagine that.) Dr. Kristin was wonderful with Kate. She talked a lot about forming good habits early and made everything seem fun and exciting. Kate's diet is good for her teeth and Dr. Kristin was happy to hear that we have established lots of good habits. Her love of Bubba is not- she already has a pretty significant overbite for her age. :( Kate was very excited to switch to "Big Girl toothpaste" with fluoride- just a smear amount for now. We may also be in the market for a spin tooth brush since she seems to stay open much longer for the rotating brush the doctor had than she does with anything else in her mouth. There were so many toys and books and puzzles in the waiting room, Kate didn't want to go home. All in all it was a great experience and Kate is excited to go back in 6 months. Here are a few more fun pictures -
I have to remind myself she's not even 3 years old yet. She's so little and yet so grown up!
